Songs from Bear in the Big Blue House
Published in Audio CD by WALT DISNEY RECORDS (August, 2002)
Average review score:

Songs from Bear in the Big Blue HouseMy 14 month old daughter is absolutely crazy about this tape. The minute it comes on in the car her feet start moving and a big smile appears on her face. I think she imagines Bear and all his friends in the car with her. Traveling in the car is a breeze now. The songs are very catchy and not annoying for adults.

Standing Bear and the Ponca Chiefs
Published in Paperback by Univ of Nebraska Pr (April, 1995)
Average review score:

SuperbA very short, readable, poignant book. It chronicles a lawsuit filed by the Ponca Indians against the federal government in Nebraska in the 1870's. Nearly all of the text is contemporary material. The outcome of the trial was a triumph for American justice. For those of us whose notions of the settlement of the west are formed mainly by images of Colonel Custer, old 50's movies with battles between calvary and Indians, and the like, the narratives in this true story are full of surprises.

Berenstein Bears and the Eager BeaversThis is the best book for the family! It teaches all of us to be more productive just like the berenstein bears. Their competition with the eager beavers is a real life truth. The harder you work the more you'll enjoy its fruits. This book is excellent in that it teaches kids and adults alike about having a good work ethic.

Sweet Dreams for Sally (Care Bears)
Published in Hardcover by Parker Brothers (March, 1983)
Average review score:

Sweet Dreams For SallyThis was one of my favorite books as a child. At one time I had the entire collection, but somehow they magically disappeared over time. This would be a great collection to have once again. This book is essential to the collection. I remember reading this book night after night until I had the entire book down by heart. Truely a work of art.

Taking Care of Sister Bear
Published in Hardcover by Doubleday (10 August, 1999)
Average review score:

A charming book for big and little siblings! The illustrations in this book would carry it, even if the story itself wasn't as endearing as it is. It's one of those 'warm-fuzzy' books for preschoolers..a read aloud book which parents will enjoy reading to their young children. The story centers around Little Bear who is feeling put-out because his new baby sister is getting all the attention in the family. Little Bear has decided that "having a little sister was not fun at all!", especially when his friend Willy shows up for fishing, and they decide to take Sister Bear with them. What a mistake! She's more trouble than they dreamed, what with her dawdling and splashing in the water---until Little Bear has just HAD IT and decides to GIVE her to Willy. Willy has always wanted a sister, and agrees to take Sister Bear for a bucket of fish. Of course, with Sister Bear splashing in the water, it's impossible to catch any fish at all, until Sister Bear falls asleep on the bank. Then the bears become engrossed in fishing, and Sister Bear wakes up and wanders off. The ending of the story, in which Little Bear is frantic with concern over finding his little sister, brings home the mixed feelings siblings have for each other. This is another winner about Little Bear from a talented writing/illustrating team.

Taking Care of Snowbear (Bear in the Big Blue House Cloth Pockets)
Published in Hardcover by Reader's Digest (September, 1900)
Average review score:

Grab A SnowbearMy 10-month-old daughter loves this book, and so do I. The cloth pockets that allow you to place the little, stuffed Snowbear (attached to the book with a ribbon, of course) in the different scenarios are ingenious. Skye will sit on the floor with this book for long periods of time playing with Snowbear, and squeals with delight when we read the story together. One of my favorite things about the Bear In The Big Blue House board book series is that pictures of the actual characters are placed in colorful environments, which facilitate recognition. Skye and I both give it 5 stars.

The Tale of Bear
Published in Paperback by Lothrop Lee & Shepard (March, 1995)
Average review score:

This is my Daughter's Favorite Book!We have four of Helen Cooper's books: The Tale of Bear, The Tale of Pig, The Tale of Frog and The Tale of Duck. They were given to us as a set and my daughter just loves them. They are perfect books to read to babies and toddlers as they rhyme beautifully and the illustrations are wonderful. My toddler wants us to read them to her all the time, over and over. She reads them to our cat and can remember words from the pictures. I have absolutely fallen in love with Helen Cooper's books and I am in search for more as we all enjoy them and never tire of reading them. I recommend this book for the baby set. I wish Ms. Cooper would write a Tale of Cat.
